TROY, MI –– In April, 1999 Anchor Bay Entertainment released nine hilarious episodes from the hit television series That Girl which starred Marlo Thomas. That Girl first aired in 1966 and was considered to be the prototype for the many independent woman-type television shows that soon followed. Now audiences can enjoy the antics of the high-spirited would-be actress Ann Marie who affected both attitudes and wardrobes across the country in the late '60s.

Each video contains three memorable episodes and carries a suggested retail price of $9.99. Additionally, all three premiere videos are available in a collectible box set for a suggested retail price of $29.99. This collection will continue to grow

with new episodes being added all the time. Anchor Bay Entertainment is also offering Marlo fans an added bonus –– the film Jenny marking her feature film debut.

That Girl on DVD

Starring: Marlo Thomas, Ted Bessell

The classic trend-setting television series is finally presented on DVD. The first nine episodes are featured. While there have been some complaints about the dual-layer nature of the DVD, this is only true if you have a very old DVD player. Most players have no problems with dual layer discs as they become more and more popular.

Presented in full-frame (1.33 ratio), Dolby Digital, and in plastic "keep case". Running Time: 225 minutes.

That Girl: Oh Donald

Starring: Marlo Thomas, Ted Bessell

The first video of the That Girl series is entitled "Oh Donald" and contains three episodes celebrating the most important milestones in Ann Marie and Donald Hollinger's relationship. In the first episode, "Don't Just Do Something, Stand There," Donald, played by Ted Bessell, meets the perky Ann when he comes to her rescue but finds that it was only a commercial shoot. She nearly loses the job but the incident leads to a budding romance. In "Anatomy Of A Blunder," Ann takes Donald to meet her parents. Along the way, they stop for a disastrous picnic. By the time they arrive at her parents, Donald is a walking calamity. In "Counter-Proposal," Donald finally pops the question to Ann after four years of dating. After only four hours, she returns the ring.

That Girl: Auditions, Auditions, Auditions

Starring: Marlo Thomas, Ted Bessell

"Auditions, Auditions, Auditions" spotlights some of Ann Marie's most hysterical efforts to land an acting position. In "Call Of The Wild," Ann is dejected when she's told by the producers of a soup commercial that she doesn't have the sex appeal that housewives would resent. In an effort to change her image, she starts working on a striptease routine until Dad accidentally walks in on her show. "Nobody Here But Us Chickens" finds Ann securing the role of "Miss Chicken Big." After a promotional tour with the head of the fried chicken franchise, her new boss makes some tasteless passes at her. Ann jumps out of the car and is left to fend for herself at night on a dark country road -- in a chicken suit! Ann tries desperately to get to an important Broadway audition in "The Snow Must Go On." The only problem is that she's stranded at Kennedy Airport in a blizzard. Ann is determined to perservere.

That Girl: Guest Stars

Starring: Marlo Thomas, Ted Bessell

"Guest Stars" features some of the superstars that appeared on That Girl over the years. "This Little Piggy Had A Ball" has performances by both Teri Garr and Rob Reiner. In this episode, Ann is asked to accept a Tony Award for her friend. The day before the awards, Ann reads an article about a man getting his toe stuck in a bowling ball. Trying to prove its impossibility, she gets her toe stuck and must thump her way on stage in a fancy hairdo, evening gown and bowling ball. "Pass The Potatoes, Ethel Merman" features Ethel Merman playing herself for the first time in a television series. Ann finds herself appearing on stage with Ms. Merman and to overcome her fear Donald attempts to help by inviting the star to dinner. Her presence causes caught a stir among Ann's neighbors. In "Those Friars," Ann is willed an old trunk from her late Uncle Harry. She's surprised when celebrities Milton Berle and Danny Thomas (real-life father of Marlo) pay a visit to her apartment to try to buy the old trunk.

"All for Show Biz" features three episodes chronicling the wild schemes and manic mishaps Ann makes in her attempts to break into show business. In "You Have To Know Someone To Be An Unknown," Ann stages some wild "happenings" to catch the eye of a producer looking for a new face. In "The Mailman Cometh," Ann's eager agent cooks up a publicity stunt in which Ann will go on a date with a well-known comedian. The only catch is he doesn't know about the date. "Just Spell The Name Right" finds Ann in another mess, thanks to her agent who has suggested Ann is having an affair with a famous actor in order to drum up publicity.

That Girl: Daddy's Little Girl

"Daddy's Little Girl" features three heartwarming and hilarious episodes about Lew Marie's difficulties in letting his daughter grow up. In "Leaving The Nest Is For The Birds," Ann invites her fretful parents over to dinner to ease their troubled minds--only to have everything go wrong. "The Rivals" finds Donald and Daddy competing for Ann's affection. "It's So Nice To Have A Mouse Around The House" is a comedy-of-errors-style plot that would later become the bread-and-butter of THREE'S COMPANY. Trouble bubbles when Ann finds an unwanted roommate in a mouse, and switches apartments with Donald. When Ann's father makes an unannounced visit, he suspects hanky panky.

That Girl: Everybody Loves Ann

"Everybody Loves Ann" features three episodes highlighting just a few of the many suitors who tried to lure Ann's attention away from "that guy," Donald. In "Among My Souvenirs," Donald gets jealous when Ann arranges to meet with an ex-boyfriend. "A Tenor's Loving Care" finds Ann accompanying Donald on an interview with famous opera star Guiseppe Cassinitti (Carol O'Connor)--who wants to make sweet music with Ann. "The Mating Game" sends Ann and Donald onto a televised dating game show. Will Bachelorette #1 pick the right guy?
