The Good Skate With the philosophy that every part may be her big chance, Ann makes a valiant effort to learn to roller-skate to get a part in a soft-drink (called Twinkie) commercial. When Donald's best tutoring efforts fail, he agrees to accompany Ann to the audition as a human prop. Guest stars include Rob Reiner as the hairdresser and Paul Smith as the director. |

Black, White and Read All Over Donald, the proud owner of an unpublished novel, needs cheering when he gets his twelfth rejection slip. Ann decides to boost his morale with a home-cooked dinner. Donald is cheered even more when an unexpected visitor - Ann's father - drops by and promises to show the book to famous publisher, T.L. Harrison (Henry Jones), whom he knows as a customer at his restaurant. But after reading the book, Mr. Marie is shocked and refuses to submit it. * Interesting Note: Don's novel, City of Strangers, is first made known in Episode #20: Gone With The Breeze. |

Year, Hopefully The Hollingers are upset that their son isn't coming home for Thanksgiving, and the Maries are upset that a family tradition is being broken. Trying to cook everyone's favorite dishes, Ann takes over the kitchen of a neighbor who is away. As the four parents bicker, Ann smells smoke and discovers she has locked herself out of the neighbor's apartment with the cooking turkey still inside! |

To Each Her Own Donald is assigned to write an article about computer dating. Ann is jealous when Donald's Compudate match turns out to be attractive model, Lisa Stevens (Suzanne Charny). So Ann fills out a Compudate card herself and comes up with a good-looking date also (Rich Little), who turns out to be a lot more like Donald than she'd care to admit! Ruth Buzzi also guest stars as Pete. |

Pass the Potatoes, Ethel Merman Ann is overwhelmed to find herself on stage with Ethel Merman, who chooses Ann for a walk-on part in a revival of "Gypsy." Sixty-Five on the Aisle After Ann invites her parents to see her Broadway debut, she learns that her lines have been cut considerably. Ann asks her father to change his reservations to the following night so he can see her uncut role. She's unaware that her part was cut to accommodate a surprise theater party planned by her father. of but Freud Himself Donald is writing an article on Dr. Enrici Cesana (Renzo Cesana), whose studies may revolutionize Freud. Showing off his knowledge, Donald administers the inkblot test to Ann and evaluates Ann as aggressive, argumentative and impulsive. Jerry and Ruth Bauman don't fare well, either. |

When in Rome Famed Italian director Vittorio Barrini (Francis Lederer) sees Ann modeling at an auto show and gives her the eye as well as a film offer. Overjoyed at a chance to work with the renowned director, Ann doesn't immediately realize that her role calls for a nude scene. |

A Friend in Need When Ann sprains her ankle at work, Donald comes to the rescue cooking gourmet meals and cleaning her apartment with a vengeance. In fact, he proves so adept as a ministering angel that she resents it. Ann is convinced that Donald is challenging her femininity and orders him to turn in his apron. |

The Mailman Cometh Modeling at Sardi's, Ann attracts the attention of a famous Modeling Agency, but when she arrives to meet her representative, it's with a green young agent named Seymour Schwimmer (Don Penny) who takes her as his first client. Determined to get Ann's name in the headlines, the agent tells Ann that she's got a publicity date with comedian Dick Shawn - only Shawn doesn't know it. Dick Shawn and Ruth Buzzi guest star. |

Before Christmas, You're Under Arrest Ann purchases tickets for the Baumans from a scalper. Giving the scalper a check with her address on it and saying the tickets are for her neighbors, she fears they may be robbed (on Christmas Eve). In order to prevent a robbery, Ann and Donald remove all the valuables from the Baumans' apartment, only to be caught by the police. |

Fur All We Know While working as a model at a furrier, Ann is asked by Don to accompany him to an elite party his magazine is covering. Fearing she has nothing to wear, Ann borrows a chinchilla fur wrap from her employer, and looking every bit the little-rich-girl, Ann catches the eye of dashing jet-setter Buzzy Cavanaugh (Quinn Redeker). After a lunch date with Buzzy she can't get out of, Ann is surprised when he borrows cab fare from her, claiming he has no small bills. |

The Rivals Ann takes boyfriend Donald home to spend the weekend with her parents, only to find that her father is jealous of Don and sees him as a rival. When Ann's Mom points out that her father feels he is being replaced as the man in her life, Ann asks Donald to set his ego aside and be patient. The situation only gets worse when Donald and Mr. Marie have a car accident and no one is sure whose fault it is. |

Call of the Wild Ann becomes convinced that she has no sex appeal when she lands a part as the Creamy Soap Girl because the producer sees her as a fresh scrubbed face that no housewife could resent for her looks. While trying to "cultivate" some sex appeal, Ann tries for an impromptu striptease in front of the mirror, but her father walks in and catches her! The Other Woman After Ann, Don and Mr. Marie run into Ethel Merman at a restaurant, Ann suggests that her father escort Ethel Merman to her rehearsal. In no time, newspaper reporters see the two together and publish an article insinuating they are an item. When Ann's mother sees the article, she believes she's lost her man to a glamorous movie star, and promptly leaves Mr. Marie. Don and Ann must get Ethel Merman to convince Mrs. Marie that it's not true - which gets a little harder when they find Mr. Marie hiding in Ethel's dressing room! |

He and She and He Donald is stunned when Ann receives a marriage proposal from British fashion photographer Noel Prince. Noel expects his answer in the morning, despite Ann's protestations that she loves Donald. But when Don insists that Ann stick to the deadline, she falls asleep and dreams she's married to them both! In a hilarious dream-scene, Lew Parker plays the biblical part of Noah. Gary Marshall guest stars. |

Mrs. Hollinger (Mabel Albertson) becomes ruffled when she learns that Ann's provocative peignoir was a present from her son. The Detective Story After Ann receives an obscene phone call, Police Detective Sergeant Ray Mandel (Hal Buckley) spends the night at her apartment, trying to catch the caller. However, when Donald arrives at Ann's the next morning, Mandel emerges from Ann's bedroom - giving Donald some rather inappropriate impressions. When the obscene calls persist, Mandel spends the night again, but this time Don insists on staying as well! |

the Only Man in the World When Don is out of town, Ann is knocked unconscious by a line drive at a baseball game, and attending physician, Doctor Rex Kennedy, looks just like Donald. Ann keeps calling him Donald, and the resident psychiatrist thinks she is hallucinating. In the meantime, Rex decides to fool Ann into thinking he is Donald to get her affection! |

Just Spell the Name Right Ann is pressured to hire unscrupulous press agent Eddie Edwards (Jesse White) who promptly links her to a divorce scandal with actor Buddy Hobart (Robert Alda) in the hopes that it will boost Ann's career. While Ann and Buddy commiserate over his crumbling marriage and Ann's tiff with Donald, Mrs. Hobart (Joan Blondell) stops at Donald's apartment to get acquainted. |

The Beard Donald returns from a hunting trip with a beard that Ann can't get used to. Believing that he's receiving special attention because of his new look, Don refuses to shave. After Ann pleads with Don to lose the beard and then pulls away from his kiss, Donald leaves angry. So to teach him a lesson, Ann shows up for their next date with short hair. The Drunkard Sid Caesar plays Marty Nickels, a drunken comedian with whom Ann is working on a commercial. When she hears Marty is in danger of being arrested for his behavior in a bar, she brings him to her apartment to sober up and remember his own address. But soon Marty is showing up drunk at her door every night, where he passes out and wakes up the next morning, believing he's having a relationship with Ann! Audrey Christie guest stars as Marty's mother, Ella. Sid Melton and Buddy Lester also guest star. * Interesting Note: Teri Garr makes her second appearance in the show as one of the actresses competing against Ann for the part in the commercial. However, she is uncredited. (Her first appearance was in Episode #28.) |

Old Man's Darling Ann meets an elderly man, Andrew Washington (played by Cecil Kellaway) at a party when he accidentally spills his shrimp cocktail on her new white crepe dress. Not realizing he's one of the 10 richest men in the country, Ann refuses to accept his offer to buy her a new dress, or at least pay for the cleaning. The next day, a bonded messenger arrives bearing a diamond bracelet from Mr. Washington. Since Ann can't accept it, she goes to dinner with the millionaire in order to return it, but sleazy publicity agent Eddie Edwards (played by Jesse White again) and actress Bonita La Salle (Arlene Golonka) spot Ann with her wealthy companion and hatch a scheme to finance a play.
