December 12, 1999:
Happy Holidays, everyone! More images to the gallery, updated some typos, and
updated the Episode Guide.
April 22, 1999:
Well, here's some big news! That Girl is finally coming to VIDEO!
Please make sure you go to our Announcement Page to
find out more!
March 1, 1999:
We've added more images to the gallery, updated some bio information
(thanks very much to all those who send in info!), and updated the
Episode Guide to reflect the order of chronology
and airing in more perfect-sync. There's
the original episode titling numbers reflecting when each was filmed, the ABC
Episode Guide, the Metromedia Episode Guide, The WorldVision Enterprises (Evergreen
Programs) Episode Guide, and the TVLand Episode Guide. All have slight
differences here and there, so we're striving for the best accuracy and logical
ordering we can attain.
February 21, 1999:
We've added some cool new promo stuff from ABC that we were able
to obtain from the 1966, 1967 and 1968 Fall Season promotions. It highlights
ABC's desire to keep "That Girl" in a block with other female comedy
leads - first with Love on a Rooftop and then the following couple of
years with The Flying Nun, but always with Bewitched. Check out
our Gallery I for these great shots.
We've also added new audio files to the Gallery. We now offer all
three versions of the Opening Theme to "That Girl". We are now supplying them
in mp3 format because it reduces size and bandwidth while
allowing for more richness of sound and quality. If you are unfamiliar with
the mp3 format and have no player, there are links with
the sound files to take you to places to download the software (free) and to
read the FAQs on the format details.
February 10, 1999:
Our site now hosts a new Book & Media Store through
our association with Amazon.Com. You can browse for books, films and CDs that
feature Marlo Thomas and Ted Bessell as well as some great Entertainment and
Classic TV books. Any items you purchase through our site helps us to maintain this
site and its contents. Please visit from time to time and see of something catches
your interest.
February 4, 1999:
Updated the Gallery pages so they are in a more
logical order and added a new ABC promotional photo for their "Triple Treat"
campaign.
January 31, 1999:
Updated the cast pages for Bernie Kopell
and Rosemary DeCamp. Also redesigned the
theme lyrics page.
January 30, 1999:
Our site has been moved to its new domain name, thatgirltv.com. Should
you notice any problems or missing items due to this change, please let us know.
Also, if you link to us, or know someone who does, we'd sure appreciate it if
you'd let them know of the change.
January 16, 1999:
We added a page that not only gives you the listings for the principal characters
and those who played them, but for ALL the recurring characters - including all
of Ann's ever-changing agents. Even the roles that were filled by multiple people.
Check it out here! We hope to link these to photos
of each actor soon.
We've added another new batch of photos to the Gallery. Mostly in the
newest area, Gallery #7! We added 38 new pictures
bringing the Photo Gallery up to 136 great images of That Girl scenes,
cast shots, Marlo pics and more.
We do ask that you remember that these images are for your
personal viewing
only, as we have noticed that some people
have felt free to take the gallery images and set up their own pages with them. Most
doing so without even giving credit, nor asking permission. Some are even linking to
the image files HERE, therefore stealing the bandwidth as well as the images. Please don't
do this and ruin a nice offering for everyone else. A tremendous amount of time and
money has gone into this collection so that we can offer these to our visitors to
view.
January 11, 1999:
Wow.. another year's gone by! We put a lot of changes into the site over
the holiday break. New navigational bar at top (with text links at the bottom)
and new content. We've added promotional info, many items to the casts biographies,
(with more to come soon) and LOTS more photos! The Gallery is
now up to 6 huge pages. There are photos of Marlo from a young girl to present
time (with most being That Girl era shots) and lots of episode and studio pics.
You've probably noticed we are an Alta Vista partner now. They're offering the very
cream-of-the-crop in Entertainment Sites now and we have entered into a legal
partnering agreement with the entertainment division.
We were contacted by a very nice gentleman from Nash Entertainment who has also offered
us some great new content. Thanks, Franz Forocio!
If you have written to us with a "That Girl" question, comment or request, please be
patient. We try to reply to all mail, but we are getting a large volume of mail per day
now and sometimes fall behind in getting it all answered. We very much appreciate the
response, though!
December 28, 1998:
Hope everyone had a nice Christmas! I want to thank all the visitors who
have been writing with their thoughts on the show and their kind words about
the site. The old mailbox has been staying pretty full lately!
October 30, 1998:
Sorry to have been away from the site for awhile. Sadly, I lost both of
my parents this year. My father to a stroke and then - just a couple of weeks
ago - my mother to lung cancer. Her care took all of my time and attention these
last few months.
September 1, 1998:
We've been online for two years today! Thanks for all your help and
encouragement, everyone!
August 5, 1998:
We've entered a partnership agreement with Alta Vista to be an entertainment
site for their new endeavor,
The Wild, Wild Web. Take
a minute to check out this new venture of theirs. It's pretty cool and lists only
the best of the best!
June 30, 1998:
We have added a new page to showcase some of
the promotional and merchandising items that centered around
That Girl. We've also added a number of new photos to
the Gallery.
June 14, 1998:
We were chosen by E! Entertainment Television to be a Top Ten Classic TV Site.
(We were Number 4!) Thanks, E!
May 1998:
Well, I have been told that That Girl is now gone from TVLand. It's a shame,
but we are still hoping the deal with Columbia House will work out.
We have heard from a relative (cousin) of Lew Parker who has sent us a great deal of
newsworthy and insightful background info for use in his bio here. Our sincere thanks
to Philip Wilson! We have added some of the information and will be sifting through
and organizing the rest to add to the site soon.
April 1998:
We've now heard from a great many of the actors and actresses who appeared
in various episodes of That Girl. Many of them have updated us on what
they've been up to. We are hoping to organize some of this and ask them each for
a little message to add to the page.
February 1998:
We've added some new photos to the gallery and updated some of the episode
reviews.
January 1998:
Rumors that TVLand will take That Girl off the air seem to be
pretty justified. I know of many people who are trying to keep this from happening,
but it doesn't look promising. :-(
November 15, 1997:
Once again I find that work has kept me from doing more than basic maintenance on
the site. Some interesting news, however - since I last made note here, the "That
Girl Group" at AOL has had its first scheduled chat. AOL's resident That Girl
Expert, Dave Stein, was in attendance answering questions and keeping things
on track. It was great fun and I wish I could have stayed longer.
Douglas Denoff (son of co-creator Sam Denoff) contacted me about the error in our
theme lyrics credit line (yes, it's correct now) and has let me know that there might
be an official site for That Girl in the works. I say, the more the better and
I hope we can work together!
I was also contacted by Stephen Cole who is authoring the first "THAT GIRL
COMPANION". It will be published by Renaissance Books. We will be working with
them as well.
Also, Marlo was inducted into the Radio & Television Hall of Fame this past
week. Congratulations!
July 11, 1997:
Added some new and updated information to the Marlo
Thomas Cast
Member page. Including a few new photos at the bottom of the page.
July 1, 1997:
Updated the information and film credits on the Rosemary
DeCamp Cast
Member page. Our dear friend, Jeff located a photo of Rosemary for the page!
June 19, 1997:
Wow. It's amazing how working on corporate sites 12 hours a day can keep
you from the sites you have fun with! But squeezing a little time here and there,
we have managed to update the site in a few places - most notably in the Photo
Pages. There are now multiple Photo Galleries, offering hundreds of
photos. Each Gallery will let you scroll back and forth through the next and
previous Galleries and each photo is clickable to a larger image. Please remember
these are for personal use only.
The majority of our newer photos were provided to us by Jeff Kifer. We can't thank
you enough for all your hard work, Jeff!
January 24, 1997:
After being away for the holidays and then a hospital stay, I am back! I
have updated the Photo Page to include syndication posters,
an autographed photo, a behind-the-scenes snapshot of the cast at the 100th Episode
Party (note that the cake reads, "The first 100 are the HARDEST"), some proof sheet
photos and more. Our sincere thanks to those of you who have sent us photos and other
items for the page. Special thanks to Jeff, Dave, Wendy and Gregg.
We also won the Editor's Choice Award from
Reader's Digest's new web service, LookSmart.
