Lou Marie owns and operates the La Parisienne Restaurant in Brewster, New
York, the town in which he resides. As the father of Ann Marie, he is
over-protective and generally suspicious.
Lou Marie was never all that crazy about Ann being an actress, and he's not too sure how he feels about the growing movement of Women's Liberation and free love. He is displeased when he sees his daughter in short skirts and long earrings, and finds it hard to really trust her boyfriend, Donald Hollinger, whom he calls "Don." Nevertheless, he is a loving parent who, along with his wife Helen, tries to always be supportive, generous and helpful. When he's not butting into his daughter's affairs, Lou spends his time being a member of both the Shriner's Club and the Brewster Country Club.
